Found in every shearing shed across the country in the twentieth century, The Woolpress is an iconic piece of New Zealand history.
Based on the original Donalds Woolpress, Black Dog Furniture have created a classic rugged leaner that will take pride of place indoors or outdoors: The Iconic Woolpress Bar Leaner.
In no time at all, The Woolpress Bar Leaner has earned it's household name, becoming the very beloved piece of furniture it is today.
Care & Maintenance
Each Woolpress Leaner is pre-oiled for protection. Follow these simple steps to keep your furniture looking great...
✅ Prevention
Avoid putting your Woolpress Leaner on grass, dirt, or loose stones for long periods to prevent the wooden base from rotting.
✅ Oiling
Re-oil your furniture when it looks dry, ideally before summer and winter. More frequent oiling provides better protection.
✅ Cleaning
Clean with warm water and mild soap, but avoid soaking. Dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
NOTE: Reactions such as cracks and movement in timber are a natural part of the weathering process and add to its rustic character without compromising any of its strength or durability.

North Island - $100 NZD/$190 NZD With Stools Included (Non Rural Delivery)

Heads up! 🏡 If you're in a rural area, there'll be a bit of an extra charge for delivery.

✅ Delivery
Orders are dispatched within 2-5 business days after placing your order. Furniture will be flat packed onto a pallet and plastic wrapped.
Receiving Your Delivery: Delivery is 1 person service & does NOT include installation of furniture.In most cases, you’ll receive email or text notifications keeping you updated on your furniture's journey.
The delivery company will contact you to confirm the delivery date or notify when your furniture is ready for collection from the depot.
✅ Delivery Damage
Inspect your package for damage before signing. The driver will allow time for you to check the condition.
If there are any issues, note them on the delivery docket before signing. You have the right to reject the delivery if you notice any damage.
Advise our sales team sales@blackdogfurniture.co.nz or 027 460 2419 within 2 days of delivery if your item is damaged or faulty.
✅ Returns Policy
Faulty goods will be handled according to the Consumer Guarantees Act. We do not accept returns due to a change of mind.
✅ Customer Collection
Once your order is ready, we’ll reach out to you for pickup. You can collect your furniture from our showroom at 483 Peake Road, Cambridge.
Online Purchases
Full payment is required for online purchases. Extra delivery charges may apply for rural or remote areas.
Lead Times
We’ll provide an estimated completion date at the time of ordering. Delays may occur and do not constitute a breach of contract; Black Dog Furniture is not liable for any disruptions or costs.
Cancellation
Cancelled orders may incur a 10% fee, deducted from the deposit.
Collection
Furniture can be collected from our showroom at 483 Peake Rd, Cambridge.
Delivery
Customers must inform us of any unusual delivery logistics (e.g., rural areas, restricted access). Extra charges may apply. Delays do not constitute a breach of contract.
Damage
Check your delivery before signing. If there are issues, note them on the delivery docket and only sign if you're satisfied. Notify us of any damage within 2 days at sales@blackdogfurniture.co.nz or 07 823 7580.
Returns Policy

Product Images
Actual colours and designs may vary from online images due to screen settings and other factors. Dimensions may vary by +/-20mm.
Timber
Variations in colour, grain, and texture are natural in solid timber. Splits and cracks may develop over time and are not considered defects.
General
All goods remain the property of Black Dog Furniture until full payment is received and cleared.
